Hospital renovations: How will they affect you?

Some departments at the Port Shepstone Regional Hospital will be closed while work is in progress.

PORT Shepstone Regional Hospital is undergoing renovations, which are expected to be completed in October this year.

While this is good news, it does however mean that certain clinical elective procedures will have to be postponed and patients referred to other hospitals for further care and treatment.

“Some of the reconstruction work will require the complete closure of certain departments and the relocation of the entire patient area,” said public relations officer, Phumza Morai.

Renovations include tiling, re-painting of walls, plumbing, drainage, roof leakages and electrical work.

The following areas will be affected: pharmacy, casualty, OPD, J Ward, eye clinic, MOPD, the intensive care unit and CCU, patient administration and the security office.

For more information, contact Mrs Morai at 039 6886000.
