Update: Murdered Hibberdene house-sitter named

A hammer and a brick were found at the scene.

ARMSTRONG Kwazi Fana Msomi (27) was discovered murdered in Mount Pleasant Road in Woodgrange, Hibberdene last Thursday.

Mr Msomi was the nephew of Siyabonga Zama, who is the Head of Department for Economic Development, Tourism and Planning at the Hibiscus Coast Municipality.

Police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid, said police found the house where the murder took place had broken windows and when they entered the premises, they found the house in disarray.

Officers found several items, including a television, wrapped in blankets. “There was also blood on the floor. Police then discovered the body of the young man in the passage,” she said.

A hammer and a brick were also found at the scene.

Simon April, spokesman for Hibiscus Coast Municipality, said that the municipality extends its deepest condolences to Mr Zama and his family.

“We would not like to speculate on the motive for the attack but leave everything in the hands of the police,” said Mr April.

He added that anyone who may have information on the attack is asked to come forward and assist the police with their investigations.
