HARDING SAPS has registered seven counts of culpable homicide for investigation following a fatal motor vehicle accident on the N2 freeway at KwaMbotho Ward, Harding last Friday night.
Two police constables and two civilian employees from Kokstad were travelling towards Kokstad in a car when they were involved in a collision with a taxi which was travelling in the opposite direction (towards Port Shepstone) with nine passengers on board.
“All four occupants in the car died at the scene while the nine occupants in the taxi sustained serious injuries,” said police spokesman, Captain Vincent Pandarum.
Three of the injured later died in St Andrews Hospital.
The case is being investigated by Lieutenant Nobabalo Magugu of the Harding SAPS Detective Service.
