Middleton’s trial to start today

The trial is expected to begin today (Thursday).

SOME eight months after being granted bail, former traffic chief Dave Middleton – who is facing 32 charges under the Sexual Offences Act – appeared in the Port Shepstone Regional Court yesterday (Wednesday).

However the trial, which was expected to start yesterday, was postponed to today (Thursday) as Mr Middleton’s legal representative, Advocate Jimmy Howse, was recovering from a recent operation.

Mr Middleton’s trial has been set down for November 25 to 27.

Mr Middleton was arrested in 2013 and was in prison for around 18 months before he was released on R30 000 bail. He faces charges of rape, sexual grooming, involving two minors.
