TWO men were fatally injured in a drive-by shooting outside a tavern in Park Rynie last Saturday. A third person was also injured.
They were among a group standing outside the tavern when the occupants of a white Volkswagen Polo opened fire on them.
Police swiftly identified the vehicle and arrested one suspect in Scottburgh and a second in Park Rynie. An unlicensed firearm was recovered.
The first suspect was charged with two counts of murder and one of attempted murder. The second suspect was charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm.
Both will appear in the Scottburgh Magistrate’s Court today (Tuesday).
Scottburgh Crime Intelligence, Scottburgh Detective Task Team, Umzinto K9, Umkomaas VISPOL and Port Shepstone Highway Patrol assisted with the operation which led to the arrests.
