Dagga seedlings seized

A man is due to appear in court today for the possession and cultivation of dagga.

CLOSE to 100 dagga plants were seized by police last Saturday.

Officers stopped a vehicle on the N2 southbound in the vicinity of Port Shepstone at about 9am after receiving a tip-off.

“Warrant Officer Hendrik Ludick, Sergeant Rudi Smit and Constable Zonwabele Mpofana from the Port Shepstone 10111 call centre stopped the silver Mercedes Benz,” said police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.

A total of 93 dagga seedlings were found in containers inside the vehicle and a 44-year-old man was arrested and charged with the possession and cultivation of dagga.

He is due to appear in Port Shepstone court today (Monday).
