A MAN died at the Gamalakhe Clinic after being stabbed at the Masinenge informal settlement last Saturday.
Police said 27-year-old Aphilile Pikwa was attacked when he intervened to prevent another man being stabbed.
“The man with the knife then left the person he had an argument with and turned on Pikwa,” said police spokesman Captain Gerald Mfeka.
“Pikwa was stabbed once in the chest and his attacker fled the scene. Those who witnessed the stabbing took Mr Pikwa to the Gamalakhe clinic were he later died.”
Margate police subsequently arrested a 22-year-old man at Masinenge.
Ntuthuko Jali appeared in the Ramsgate court on Tuesday this week. The case was postponed for further investigation. He remains in police custody.
