Police on the hunt for Impenjati rapist

The attacker threatened to kill the victim's five-month-old baby.

POLICE are hunting a man who raped a mother in front of her five-month-old baby in a banana plantation at Impenjati near Trafalgar on Sunday, October 5.

“The attacker is thought to have passed the mother and daughter on the road,” said police spokesman Captain Gerald Mfeka.

The woman was on her way to buy airtime when the man, who she did not know, forced her into the plantation.

“He demanded that she remove her clothing and when she refused, he threatened to hit her with a rock. She still refused and he then threatened to kill her child with a knife,” said Capt Mfeka.

“She was then raped twice in front of her child,” said Capt Mfeka. No arrests have been made. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Detective Constable Joel Shezi at 082 3398463 or 039 3122524.
