Several injured in Southbroom crash

Two people sustained serious injuries.

FOUR people were injured , two seriously, after a bakkie and two cars collided on the R61 near Southbroom yesterday (Sunday).

Netcare 911 spokesman, Chris Botha, said that paramedics and the fire department found accident debris and the twisted remains of the vehicles spread over a large area.

“The mangled remains of the bakkie came to rest on its side against the barriers with one of its wheels torn off and lying some 20 metres away on the roadway,” he said.

Mr Botha added that two people had sustained serious injuries, while two others escaped with minor injuries.

After being stabilised, the injured were taken to hospita.
