Two bodies found dumped in Murchison

Police are investigating a double murder, assault and kidnapping.

FOUR men from Nkulu Ward, Izingolweni have been arrested following a double murder last Sunday.

Police spokesman Captain Gerald Mfeka said police had set up a special task team unit and arrested the four men aged between 21 and 40 for two cases of murder, assault and kidnapping.

“At about 9.30pm Gatsheni Dlamini (24), Sandiswa Cele (21), Phumlane Mtolo (25) and Ndumiso Mkhithi (24) were confronted by four men who suspected them of committing crimes in the area. All were assaulted and kidnapped.

“Two of the men, Cele and Mkhithi , although seriously injured, managed to escape and reported the  matter. Dlamini and Mtolo were later found dumped in Murchison. They had suffered multiple injuries and were declared dead at the scene,” said Capt Mfeka.

Following further investigations, police were able to locate and arrest the four suspects in Margate. The blood-stained vehicles that were used to commit the crime were found. Police are investigating a double murder, assault and kidnapping.

The suspects appeared in the Izingolweni Magistrates’ Court on Monday this week and the case was postponed to January 8. They remain in custody.
