Izingolweni family robbed at knifepoint

The owner of the house was tied up with a rope.

AN Izingolweni family was robbed at knifepoint by three men who gained entry into their Nkulu Ward home at about 10pm last Saturday.

According to police spokesman, Captain Gerald Mfeka, the family of five was watching television when the  men stormed into the house after kicking the door open.

“The robbers forced the family into separate rooms and tied up the owner of the house, a 67-year-old woman, with a rope. The men demanded money and keys to a vehicle,” said Captain Mfeka.

The robbers also took a range of household items, including a television set, cellphones, tablet and cash and fled with the homeowner’s car.

No arrests have yet been made.
