Update: Plot thickens in missing Ella case

The man was re-arrested for attempted murder.

THE public prosecutor has declined to prosecute the man (23) who was arrested for allegedly kidnapping  Ella Sophia ‘Elsie’ Potgieter, who has been missing since last Thursday.

He was released earlier today.

However, police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid, said the man was re-arrested for  attempted murder stemming from a recent incident.

“It is claimed that an argument broke out at a pub in Southport on October 24. The man and several friends were thrown out of the pub,” she said.

“He became aggressive once outside and stabbed a 33-year-old man in the face, hand and chest and shoulder.”

He will appear in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court on an attempted murder charge on November 19.
