AN 11-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in Gcilima, near Ramsgate last Saturday.
Police spokesman Captain Gerald Mfeka said the child told her mother about the incident.
“While the child’s mother was at work, the neighbour apparently entered the house. When the mother returned home at about 6pm her daughter did not open the door.
“She called out several times but there was no answer. She then went to a window and found her daughter sitting in the corner of the room,” said Captain Mfeka.
The little girl opened the door when she saw her mother and told her that she had been raped by their neighbour. Police were called but a search for the man was unsuccessful.
Margate police are investigating.
