It’s all systems go for Mandela Day

67 destitute families will be receiving food parcels and blankets.

TODAY,  July 18, Mandela Day,  will see representatives from six organisations, namely, SMG South Coast, Hibiscus Coast Municipality, Ugu District Municipality, Sanco Development Institute, Esayidi FET College and the Road Accident Fund gathering at the Port Shepstone Civic Centre for the briefing on the activities of the day. This will be followed by a walk to the taxi rank to create awareness on keeping the environment clean and highlight the importance of Mandela Day.

The delegation will proceed to Nobamba High School to assist in the cleaning and painting of classrooms which have been adopted by the Road Accident Fund as their project for the day whilst the rest will proceed to KwaMasinenge to clean the crèche and hand over blankets and food parcels to 67 destitute families.

The latter group will then travel to the Uvongo area to join the team that will be repairing potholes under the SANCO Development Institute and Road Accident Fund Partnership Project. The delegation will spend 67 minutes on this exercise, after which they will proceed to Uvongo Town Hall for the formal launch of this SANCO Development Institute and Road Accident Fund Partnership Project which is being piloted at Hibiscus Coast Municipality.

On the same day, the Road Accident Fund will be offering its services to existing and potential clients from 6am till 6pm at St Martin de Porres School, Port Shepstone.
