Traditional healer arrested

The dagga was found in the woman's surgery.

A TRADITIONAL healer from Mehlomnyama near St Faiths was arrested after police seized dagga at her home in Dweshula on Monday this week.

Police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid said crime prevention officers from Mehlomnyama SAPS and their station commander acted after receiving a tip-off.

Police raided the woman’s home and found six bags of dagga weighing 1.170kg in her surgery.

Bavelile Mqadi (60) was arrested. She paid an admission of guilt fee of R1 500 after she was charged.
