TWELVE goats and a stolen car may not have been what police and RTI officers were expecting to find in a roadblock near Ixopo on Thursday, July 3.
Following a chase after the stolen vehicle failed to stop at the roadblock, police found the car abandoned on the side of the road with the 12 goat passengers still jammed inside.
Police believe that the animals may have been stolen in the area and investigations continue.
The roadblock also saw seven people were arrested for possession of dagga, and one for possession of a dangerous weapon.
Two suspects were arrested for dealing in liquor and 38 people were arrested under the immigration act.
