Pensioners fall victim to armed robbers

The incidents took place in Melville and Pumula.

A MAN and a woman were attacked and robbed in two separate incidents at their residences on Tuesday this week.

A 66-year-old woman was woken up at about 11pm, when two men armed with firearms entered into her tent at a caravan park in Melville.

“The woman was held at gunpoint and was forced to hand over her laptop, a handbag and a purse with cash, ID and bank cards,” said Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid. “The gunmen fled without harming her,” she said.

In the second incident a 66-year-old Pumula man was awoken by his dogs barking. “Two men, one carrying a firearm, confronted him and demanded money. They fled with a flat screen tv, cellphone and a sports bag,” said Lt-Col Wiid. Police are investigating two house robbery cases. No arrests have been made.

I was on holiday in Pumula December 2013/2014 up till now not a word from the police, I even tried to assist the police by not blacklisting a blackberry cell phone in their investigating, The scary thing my ID was taken, the lady in this storey also lost her ID, same area, same things taken possibly the same gang operating in same area till now or they have come back.
Till The police realize that police work really requires a bit of effort, love for their job & society, which is the case crime is going to increase
