A CYCLIST was seriously injured in an accident on the R102 near Umkomaas at around 9am this morning.
Reports from the scene indicate that the cyclist was training for a race and was traveling along the R102 towards Umkomaas when his bike collided with a boat that was being towed along the same route.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the man lying on the ground with serious injuries. After he was stabilised and immobilised on a trauma board, he was taken to hospital under the constant care of an advanced life support paramedic.
