Muddy water angers Albersville residents

Ugu needs to take responsibility.

RESIDENTS of Palmview, Albersville, who say they cannot afford bottled water, feel they now have no option but to use Ugu’s ‘dirty water’ to bath, cook and drink.

And they’re not happy about it.

Many were surprised this morning when they opened their taps and muddy water poured out.

According to Mummygirl Naidoo, the ‘dirty water’ problem is not new.

“We have complained numerous times to Ugu about the problem but it never gets fixed. The water is not fit for human or animal consumption.”

Other residents agreed with her, adding that it was frustrating knowing that for the past several weeks nothing had been done to remedy the matter.

“We have been trying to find a solution, but never get any response from Ugu,” said one resident.

“All Ugu does is flush the water system. Can’t a permanent solution to the problem be found?” asked Mrs Naidoo.

The municipality has been contacted for comment but none has been forthcoming yet.
