When Mr Naidoo and his friends returned from the shop, the owner of the house, who was in a bakkie, and some of his relatives, stopped the men. They were joined by people in another vehicle.

The occupants of the vehicles then attacked Mr Naidoo and his friends, allegedly with a bush knife and a whip. Mr Naidoo was hit over his hands and head, sustaining open wounds.

One of his friends was cut on the lip while the other was lashed on the hands, head and back. Mr Naidoo was taken to hospital were he received treatment.

Two men, aged 46 and 51 years respectively, were arrested last Sunday and released on R1 000 bail each.
