Who’s been a baa-d boy?

The animal narrowly escaped becoming somebody's next meal.

PORT Shepstone detectives searching for wanted suspects in Murchison last Friday arrested three men and recovered a stolen sheep. During their search the officers came across a live sheep in the back of a bakkie. The animal’s legs were bound.

“The detectives found three men busy sharpening knives,” said police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid. “The men couldn’t produce ownership documents for the animal and they were arrested. It is suspected that the sheep was taken from a truck travelling through Murchison on the N2 earlier that morning.”

The men were charged with possession of stolen property and stock theft. They appeared in Port Shepstone Court today (Monday). The sheep was taken to the SPCA for safe keeping.
