It races in the family

The doctor was accompanied by his wife Kareshme and daughter Surili, who seem to share the same passion.

With the greatest of respect, Dr Sam Maharaj is a petrol head of the highest order.

He openly admits he is a fanatic, and especially so when it comes to the GR (Gazoo Racing) options Toyota offers.

Dr Maharaj lives in Shelly Beach but practices in the Eastern Cape, so he spends a lot of time on the road.

Not that he minds, of course, it’s an opportunity to put his favourite vehicles through their paces.

He was recently at Halfway Toyota Shelly Beach to take delivery of his newest addition to the Maharaj family of GR vehicles – a sleek looking Toyota Corolla GR 1.6T.

The doctor was accompanied by his wife Kareshme and daughter Surili, who seem to share the same passion.
Dr Maharaj bought the Hilux GR in 2019, then added the Yaris GR in 2021 and now of course, the Corolla in 2023.

He’s already looking forward to seeing what’s on offer in 2025!
