WKF Ugu Karate chairman, Sensei Coenie Vrey from Suid Natal Martial Arts Academy, was recently honoured by being selected as team manager of the South African team that took part in the All Africa UFAK Championships this year.
The prestigious event was held recently in Gaborone, Botswana.

It was a showcase for all senior karateka on the African continent, with competitors from countries like Morocco and Egypt in attendance.
The competition was of the highest standard and South Africa placed a respectable seventh in the medal standings.
It was quite something to have someone in the calibre of Sensei Coenie representing the region at such a high level in the South African karate fraternity.
