AN Izingolweni mother watched helplessly as her 29-year-old daughter was raped last week. Police spokesman Captain Gerald Mfeka said a group of men entered the family’s house in Mbeni Ward, at about 1.30am, while the daughter and mother were asleep.
The daughter heard a sound in the kitchen and soon afterwards the bedroom door was kicked open.
“One of the intruders grabbed the daughter, held a knife to her neck and raped her while her mother watched helplessly. Meanwhile, his accomplices were raiding the house,” said Capt Mfeka. The men fled with money, cellphones, shoes and groceries.
Since the incident one person has been taken in for questioning.
