Jingle cells, not bells, for Middleton

The trial will continue next year.

FORMER traffic cop, Dave Middleton, will spend a second Christmas behind bars.

This comes as his trial, which began yesterday in the Port Shepstone Regional Court, was postponed by Regional Magistrate Johann Bester this afternoon (Friday) to January next year.

The trial has been set down for two days.

In the latest developments, the mothers of the two ‘victims’ took to the witness box to testify this week.

Middleton has pleaded not guilty to the 34 charges, which include rape and sexual assault, and has been denied bail by the court on five occasions.
