Support the pink drive run/walk

The Pink Drive 5km run/walk will be held at the C-Bali parking lot at St Mikes Beach on Saturday, October 12 at 09:00.

The Pink Drive 5km run/walk is an initiative of the Woman of Grace Pink Drive, in cooperation with Bread of Heaven, which was launched in August and will run until November 30.

Woman of Grace will host a Pink Drive 5km run/walk at St Mike’s Beach parking lot on Saturday, October 12 at 09:00. Entry fee is a product (see below) or cash donation.

“Period poverty, which is not talked about often, is a real issue among our women and girls in our neighbourhood and society at large. One in 10 girls miss school during her monthly period as they are unable to afford sanitary pads. Menstrual health is a human rights issue and not just a health one,” said Jo Naidoo, Pink Drive co-ordinator.

The drive aims to collect much-needed essentials, and basic hygiene and pamper items for the less fortunate women and girls in families, schools, those living on the streets, as well as those on their journey of recovery in some healthcare facilities.”

Items needed are: sanitary pads, body wash, haircare items, deodorants, body talc powders, face towels, lotions, dental care products, body wash gloves, tissues and wet wipes, and pamper spoils (combs or brushes, hair accessories, lip balms, nail polish).

Collection points: Gate Ministries Church, South Coast Mammography Centre, Hibiscus Hospital, Hibiscus Scottburgh Hospital and KA Fitness Centre.

For further information, contact Jo Naidoo on 076 6192265 or Leanne Naidoo on 083 4149426.
