Talent show set to dazzle

The talent line-up features a wide range of performances.

The highly anticipated UCA’s Got Talent show will launch on November 2, showcasing the diverse talents of learners from Umdoni Christian Academy in what promises to be a dynamic and entertaining afternoon.

The show will be hosted by Kate O’Connor, a UCA parent with a wealth of stage experience in acting, singing and musicals. O’Connor promises a fast-paced and varied performance.

The talent line-up features a wide range of performances, including singing, ballet (with a special solo en pointe performance by a senior dancer), modern dance, rhythmic gymnastics, drumming, guitar and classical piano.

The acting segments will range from hilarious poems to thought-provoking monologues and engaging group scenes.

“Our acting pieces include slapstick comedy as well as emotionally charged acts. The children have been working incredibly hard. For many, this will be their first time performing live, so we would love for the community to come out and support them,” said O’Connor.

Shylo Pereira, an incredible guest performer with vast experience both locally and internationally, will also take the stage. Pereira has opened for renowned acts like Norah Jones and Simple Minds, among others.

“I’ve always loved singing. I am nervous, but we’ve been practising with our coaches, so we will be ready by the show,” said Grade 5 learner Hlelo Biyela,

Grade 3 learner Bailey O’Connor said that she has entered the Wonderful and Wacky section.

“I’m going to show everybody a special talent I have – I can’t say what – but let’s just say it’s not something you see every day!”
