OPINION: NPO partners with Pan African Parliament

Emmanuel Msomi gives thanks to everyone that has helped him on this journey.

I thank each and every person who has helped me put my name and Laqhakaza Iphara Recovery on the map of Africa.

I am now partnering with the Pan African Parliament and leading recovery in Africa.

I am grateful to the Herald for all the articles over the years, South Coast stakeholders (especially Umdoni Municipality government departments), social departments, Umzinto and Scottburgh Saps, Umzinto Correctional Services and individuals from each department that have assisted me in getting to this point.

I have since collaborated with 75 organisations in Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Congo, Malawi, Cameroon and Namibia.

These organisations are learning from us, and they are our recovery stations. We are very humbled to be the pride and joy of Africa.

I helped the founder of Para to Paradise, an organisation in the south, to grow from strength to strength. I appreciate the social development department helping them run the organisation and get recognised. I wish more people could assist them.

In the Ugu District, there are five teams of people in the drug sector, and I humbly ask municipalities under Ugu to work hand in hand with those teams; they are well-trained, and they are doing a very good job in our district.

There are a handful of individuals who are doing a very good job helping addicts and alcoholics to achieve the gift of recovery and to help those who are affected by addicts and alcoholics at home, at schools and in the workplace. You know who you are, and you are appreciated.

Lastly, I would like to applaud all other recovery organisations that have been helping struggling addicts nationwide. May God bless everyone on the journey of recovery.

EMMANUEL MSOMI
