Low lost ball count for Eagles

The next game will be held at Selbourne on October 1.

Scottburgh Golf Club was the venue for this month’s Village Eagles golf game.

With no rain in the last month, the course was dry.

The low-cut greens were quick and proved tricky to read, however, the short rough contributed to a low lost ball count; well done to the team.

The day’s lost ball count was at 47 for 56 players, yours truly, Stan Sim, took the prize for an exact estimate.

Best lady was Terry Bacchus on 39 individual points, and Nigel Henson on count out with Pat Poole took the men’s prize on 41 points. The winners on the day were Mervyn Perry, Alistair Fergerson, Dave Jack and Steve de Klerk on an alliance score of 89 points.

Best man Nigel Henson and the Best lady Terry Bacchus.

The longest day and collecting the Stones Trophy was Brian Richards, Robin Melville, Henry Hampson and Barrie Ainslie on 74 points.

The results were calculated by Stan Sim and Alistair Eyres. Eddie Mathews presented the results, and this went without a hitch.

On the fines side, Jeremy Boyd was the master, and this was once again well-supported.

The longest day: Brian Richards, Barrie Ainslie, Henry Hampson and Robin Melville.
