St Martin De Porres’ athletes shine

Additionally, learners participated in the Port Shepstone Senior Primary boys' U13 soccer challenge.

St Martin De Porres School learners, aged 13 to 19, participated in the 2024 Ugu District cross-country championship held at the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre recently.

The following learners performed exceptionally well in their respective categories: Mjwara Sfundo – first in U18 (8km) – gold; Mbhele Oluhle – first in U15 (4km) – gold; Zindela Busisani – first in U14 (4km) – gold; Mseleku Lindokhule – second place in U15 (6km) – silver; Amukelani Ncama – third in U18 category (8km) – bronze; Siskelo Shezi fourth in U15 (6km).

Additionally, learners participated in the Port Shepstone Senior Primary boys’ U13 soccer challenge. Although they exited the competition in the knockout stage, the school is proud of their achievements.

St Martin’s boys U13 soccer team are (back) Reekha Pillay (team manager), Zubenathi Mhlongo, Luyanda Hlophe, Aphiwe Nxumalo, Thabiso Moeti, Ayanda Gumede and Siniko Vezi (coach), with Asibonge Mthalane, Mbulelo Majozi, Fanele Blose, Kwanele Gwagwa, Anele Gwagwa, Onele Dosini and Thembelani Goba in front.
