Gilliver to captain again

Jason will be hoping KZN can win the B section and gain promotion.

Jason Gilliver of Scottburgh Golf Club will captain the KZN golf team for the second year in a row.

He is generally a player who likes to let his clubs do the talking, and last year thought his friends were playing a prank on him when he was made captain.

Whatever the case, he takes it seriously once he tees it up and is looking forward to the forthcoming IPT at Stellenbosch in September.

Jason appears to be over some injury issues and will hopefully be in top form come September.

“The knee is holding up well, doing a lot of work on it to get it back to normal,” he said.

The team comprises Astin Arthur (Mount Edgecombe), Jason Broomhead (Durban CC), Jason Gilliver (Scottburgh), Nikhil Gopal (Victoria), Kyle Kistensamy (Prince’s Grant), Matt Sutherland (Prince’s Grant), James Truter (Victoria) and Luke Truter (Victoria).

Ashwin Krishen (Royal Durban) has been appointed manager.

He is a well-known and highly respected golfer, having represented the province at mid-amateur level for many years.

His experience will be invaluable in steering the KZN team to success and promotion in 2025.
