His state vehicle, a dark grey bakkie, was riddled with bullets holes.

Two people appeared in the Port Shepstone High Court last Thursday in connection with the murder of Detective Warrant Officer Andrew James Houston (51).

Houston was shot dead just outside the Harding Secondary School hall in June 2022.

At the time, he had wished his mother a happy birthday and was on his way to the Harding police station when he came under fire. His state vehicle, a dark grey bakkie, was riddled with bullet holes.

He was shot several times and was confirmed dead at the scene.
