Mfano Ngqangqa (34) received a 12 year sentence at the Scottburgh Regional Court earlier this month for robbery with aggravating circumstances.
Ngqangqa was one of two suspects who robbed a Park Rynie business at gunpoint on July 8 last year.
According to police, cash and two cellphones were taken, and the victims were tied up. The men then fled the scene on foot.
Police received information after a detailed description was given of the men, and they were able to locate and arrest them thereafter.
The second accused is yet to be sentenced.
The investigating officer in the case was Detective Constable Werner Botha of Scottburgh Detective Service.
