On a day when his putter wasn’t behaving, it was perhaps a touch ironic that a monster two-putt saw Chris Zietsman win the Selborne Park GC strokeplay championships in a playoff.
Chris shot a pair of 76s to end up in a playoff against up-and-coming youngster Jordan Bernardis.
To quickly get to the point, Chris needed to two-putt from the back of the 18th green to secure the title.
It was from the exact same spot that he had three-putted not long before to slide back into the playoff when a two-putt would have seen him win in regulation play.
“Managed to yip it in, finally,” he joked in his usual self-deprecating manner.
It was the fourth time Chris has won this title, and he enjoyed it as much as the others.
B division winner was Attie Hollenbach, from Hartwieg du Rand. C division was Brian Morton. Zelda Menne won the ladies’ champs.
