St Patrick’s fun at Southbroom

There's been a lot on the go.

Southbroom Golf Club was abuzz with St Patrick’s Day festivity last Saturday.
In rugby, Ireland would beat Scotland, but only just, to secure the Six Nations crown again.

On the golf course, Bruce Begley and Bob Thomas won the competition on 44 points, with Marius Santos and Werner Duggan next on 43 points.

Neill Crossey and Urs Diethelm were third on 42 points, with Ken Crawford and Roger Hissey in fourth on 41 points, counting out Johan Wentzel and Brian Jolliffe.

The women played their Nationals vs Internationals competition last Wednesday, with the Nationals triumphing 381-366.

Best score was returned by Candida Amm and Margaret Stoellinger of 45, with Sue Kupisiewicz and Lee Mutch, as well as Ruth Egbert and Augi D’ewes on 43 points.

In fourth place were Alexandra Huber and Jill O’Callaghan on 42 points, counting out Val Volck and Jean Cole.
In the men’s section, winners were Alex and Ken Crawford on 46 points, followed by Don Osbourn and Joseph Stoellinger on 45 points.

They counted out Andries Brewis and Roger Hissey. Next were Gary Purtell and Eric van der Spuy on 44 points.
The Nashua/Oasis Business Day last Friday (two scores to count, three on the par threes) was won by Schalk Oosthuizen, Johan Erasmus, Ed Roux and Poen Olivier on 96 points.
Runners-up were Abel Yeeranna, Santos Baskali, Nick Wattrus and Paul Geoffery on 93 points.

Third place went to Piet Fourie, George Nagel, Johan Neethling and Jaco van der Wal on 91 points.
The nine-hole junior competition last Sunday was won by Sam Douglas on 17 points.
