Just Joplin show heads to Southbroom

The show is indeed a beautiful slice of live musical theatre.

‘Just Joplin’ is coming to the Southbroom Golf Club on Friday, March 22 at 18:00.

The show will be a Barbie Meyer production in collaboration with The Gentry, directed by Marke Meyer.
Meyer’s new show aptly titled; ‘Just Joplin’ opened with great acclaim with sold-out performances on the coast.

Many people who didn’t get in the first time round or missed it have asked for another performance. The crew is delighted to do one more show.

Hailed as an exhilarating account of a musical great’s life and music, the icon that was Janis Joplin is played with supreme verve, humour, respect, pathos and passion by Meyer.

Meyer is accompanied by members from the band, The Gentry, James Carlsen, Wayne Coughlan and Brent Geldenhuys.
The show is ‘a crazy mix’, according to Meyer.

“It includes a bit of her background, the people she mixed with, the characters that inspired her, her untimely death and of course her wild and woolly songs.”

The show is indeed a beautiful slice of live musical theatre.
