New home for Shabane family

During Operation Siyahlola, the KZN MEC for Human Settlements and Public Works, Sipho Nkosi, was accompanied by the appointed contractor who promised to complete a house in six weeks for a pensioner whose mud house was destroyed by heavy rains.

It was a joyous moment for the Shabane family in KwaMachi, outside of Harding, as a RDP house was handed to them.

The family received a new home after KZN MEC for Human Settlements and Public Works Sipho Nkosi visited Umuziwabantu Municipality with Operation Siyahlola.

Nkosi had been in the area to inspect three rural housing projects in Umuziwabantu Municipality.

During Operation Siyahlola, the MEC was accompanied by the appointed contractor who promised to complete a house in six weeks for a pensioner whose mud house was destroyed by heavy rains.

The contractor also promised to give his undivided attention to another house which is in a deteriorating condition.

Among the senior departmental officials who were present, Nkosi was accompanied by the KZN Department of Human Settlements and Public Works’ general manager for Corporate Services Max Mbili and the acting director for the Ugu and Harry Gwala Districts Mvuzo Yengwa.
