Addiction counselling training soon

The training workshop will be held at Norwegian Settlers Church in Izotsha.

Non-profit recovery organisation, Laqhakaza Iphara, along with Project Exodus will be hosting a training workshop at Norwegian Settlers Church in Izotsha from March 1 to 2.

Training in addiction counselling, recovery coaching, recovery support group facilitation, harm reduction and decriminalisation are being offered to residents under four municipalities – Umdoni, Umzumbe, Umuziwabantu and Ray Nkonyeni.

“The workshop will uplift the Ugu District. Once qualified, trainees will be able to help addicts to achieve recovery, as well as those who are affected by those who suffer from addictions. We will help them heal at home, schools, work and in society,” said founder Emmanuel Mbongiseni Msomi.

The trainees will have opportunities to work under the leadership of Laqhakaza Iphara, potentially become employed and to earn an honest income.
