Kavady festival under way at temple

The temple's chariot will make its rounds in the districts of Port Shepstone on Sunday, January 21 from 08:30.

The Umbango Sri Siva Soobramoniar Temple’s annual Thai Poosam Kavady Festival started on Tuesday this week and continues until Sunday, January 28.

Daily obayams will start at 18:00, on Saturday at 15:00 and Sunday at 18:00. The temple’s chariot will make its rounds in the districts of Port Shepstone on Sunday, January 21 from 08:30.
Kavady bookings are now open. Thai Poosam Kavady is on Thursday, January 25 from 12:00 and the public kavady is on Sunday, January 28 with hawan starting at 05:30.

Devotees who wish to participate in the daily obayams are requested to contact an executive member of the temple.
Supper and prasad will be served daily.
