Marine Drive rehab resumes

Work will now continue on the opposite lanes of all the sections completed last year.

After a break during the festive season, construction company Raubex has confirmed that roadworks will resume on Marine Drive this week.

The R580 million Marine Drive rehabilitation project is set to breathe new life into the South Coast, between Port Shepstone and Southbroom.

Pieter Sassenberg of Raubex said traffic accommodation signs were rolled out on January 10 and work was expected to commence on January 11.

“We will be working on the opposite lanes of all the sections we worked on last year,” Sassenberg confirmed.

According to the Raubex schedule, in Ramsgate they will be working outside Chefs on Marine, Cranbrook Road, Beautiful East on Impi Drive, and between Shelly Beach and Oslo Beach.

Work on these sections is expected to finish between April and May.
