The Erasmus family has received something of a boost before Christmas with father Hendrik winning the Bates Motors lucky draw and with it a shopping voucher for R5000 at Harbourview Superspar in Port Shepstone.
When collecting the voucher, Heinrich grinned from ear to ear.
Asked what he most likely spend it on, his answer was succinct. “Groceries,” he smiled.
The family is from Port Edward so it was a long drive to collect his prize, and children Sherre-Lee and Daniel came along, smiling all the time, with hair recently spray-painted blue for some holiday fun.
Bates Motors Dealer Principal Philip Hawkins explained that the lucky draw was for those who had their vehicle serviced at the dealership between November 14 and December 14 and who paid cash.
In other words, those on service plans were not eligible for this draw.
Hendrik received his voucher from the Spar’s Clara Zuma and Hamilton Ndaba, with curious shoppers wondering what was happening and stopping briefly to share and enjoy the moment.
