When you step into Haskins Jewellers at Southcoast Mall in Shelly Beach, you will be spoilt for choice with the wide variety of stunning jewellery, from simple to exclusive designs.

It’s no wonder, the store was, yet again, voted the best jewellery store in the South Coast Herald’s Reader’s Choice Awards 2023.

Haskins Jewellers has been in business for over 30 years, having first opened its doors with two stores in Pretoria and Centurion. The owners, husband and wife, David and Trynie Haskins first met when they both worked at Arthur Kaplan Jewellers, and later started their own business.

When their daughter, Claire was aged three, they moved to the South Coast as they wanted a change in lifestyle. At the time, Southcoast Mall was being built and they decided it was the ideal spot to setup shop. Both upcountry stores were eventually sold, the Pretoria one a few years after their move to the coast.

“We have no regrets, we absolutely love the South Coast,” said David.

Haskins Jewellers current location is close to Entrance 1, their third move in the mall. Over the years, they have built a solid reputation, becoming well-known for their beautiful, quality jewellery and knowledgeable staff who are known to go the extra mile for their clients.

Also, as a manufacturing jeweller, they can make bespoke items to clients’ specifications. To assist clients on their journey, technology plays its part from the initial concept to the finished item. Whether its a chain or a ring, a realistic drawing of the item is computer-generated, turning clients’ ideas into reality.

Furthermore, the store also buys gold, diamond and platinum jewellery at market value for cash on the spot. The store also accepts broken jewellery and gold teeth.

It also boasts a previously loved section, where they buy second-hand jewellery, refurbish it and resell it.

So, whether you a celebrating a birthday, anniversary or engagement, Haskins Jewellers will advise on the best choice for you. Currently, diamond ear studs and rings are trending, as well as pearls and yellow gold.
