RA Engar Primary School’s Enviro Club participated in Ray Nkonyeni Municipality’s schools’ recycling competition at Uvongo Town Hall recently.
Learners participated in the speech and drama categories. The Grade 6s performed a play, Saving Our Trees. Their outstanding performance was awarded second position, winning the school a trophy and a cash prize of R4000.
Mandisa Ndlovu’s speech titled, ‘The role of waste recycling in conserving our natural resources’, secured her third place. The school was awarded a trophy and R3000.
In addition, the school was also awarded R1000 in the tonnage category, R1000 for waste implementation and a certificate of participation.
