The event was a big success for the South Coast.

The Sappi Scottburgh MTB and Trail Run attracted hundreds of participants to the area during an eventful Heritage weekend.
The event had a new start/finish venue – Premier Resorts Cutty Sark Hotel.

“We were very pleased with the turnout of 530 overall entries in this prestigious Quattro ROAG Series event, with lots to keep people entertained at the new start/finish venue and plenty of support from the local Sappi teams,” said event organiser Dave Ward.

“The event forms part of the Sappi Trails Programme, which was initiated in 2011,” said Mpho Lethoko, head of Corporate Affairs Sappi Southern Africa.

“Strategic workshops with our partners have helped shape the programme to ensure that our investment in this initiative today truly benefits the local economies and communities surrounding our forests, delivering shared value and social impact for neighbouring communities.”

Mpho added that it was overall a great day on the South Coast for all the Sappi staff and others who participated.

“Our main objectives of helping to create shared value and stimulating the local tourism economy were achieved.”
