Beauty queen competes overseas
Veronika Pillay won the Mrs Universe South Africa title earlier this year.
Sezela’s Veronika Pillay is making her mark abroad as she competes in the 46th Mrs Universe pageant in Manila, Philippines.
The beauty queen earned herself the local Mrs Universe South Africa crown in May this year, and is determined to bring home an even bigger title after competing internationally.
The event runs from October 1-9. Veronika was part of a Salsa night with the sisterhood on day one this week and is wished well by her fellow South Africans for the rest of the pageant.
“I am extremely humbled, honoured and grateful to be apart of this prestigious and iconic event,” said Veronika,
“Sincere appreciation to the Mrs Universe officials for the incredible platform of representing my beautiful country South Africa on the world stage, and allowing me the opportunity to impact positively, provide education, support, and legal assistance to many victims. This means the world to me.”
Veronika is a lawyer and senior investigator in the Office of the Public Protector. She strongly believes in her ability as a Gender Equality Attorney, to combat inequalities and empower women around the world.
“I am excited to continue this journey and be a part of the Mrs Universe 2023 pageant.”
