Film academy to boost local tourism

The film academy welcomes one and all.

Local actor, producer and director from the mid-South Coast, Bruce Gounder recently launched his film academy in Durban, and is excited to share that the academy has a new studio space in Park Rynie.

“The South Coast is a gem for tourism so it’s only fitting that I help bring more attention to the area through the entertainment industry,” he said.

The Bruce Gounder Film Academy is open to anyone who wants to get into the industry or to simply learn more about it.

Bruce also shared his expertise at the recent Ugu Film Festival and was thrilled to meet other like-minded individuals and talents. He was fortunate enough to meet John Kani, a South African actor and writer who is well-known in the industry, especially for his role as T’Chaka in Marvel’s Black Panther.

“We had an amazing time at the film festival and gave classes on acting, martial arts and special effects make-up.”
