Live ammunition found in Mkholombe

At least 167 live shotgun rounds were found hidden under a bed.

A 31-year-old man was recently arrested by Port Shepstone police for unlawful possession of ammunition in Mkholombe.

Port Shepstone police spokesperson, Captain Petros Mpinge said police received information about the ammunition and targeted Mkholombe.

Mpinge said at least 167 live shotgun rounds were found hidden under a bed.

“The man is due to appear in court on the relevant charge. Station commander of Saps Port Shepstone Brigadier Nonhlanhla Dhlamuka encourages the local community to report any criminal activities to the police on 039-688 1005 and to get involved in their local Community Policing Forum structures,” said Mpinge.
