Hlanganani shows off entrepreneurial skills

A host of stalls selling different goods and services made for an enjoyable day.

Hlanganani Preparatory‘s Grade 7s hosted their annual market day recently, as part of their economic management sciences curriculum.

Learners were tasked to display their entrepreneurial skills by selling different products for a profit.

The learners and their EMS educator, Thobile Hlophe with the help of the principal put in many hours of preparation for the day. A host of stalls selling different goods and services made for an enjoyable day. Goods on the market included chicken wrap, chicken burger, boerewors roll, chicken hearts, ice cream and so on.

Services included car wash, games, make up and a nail salon. There were also novelty items such as a scary room, modelling and many competitions.

The Grade 7s learnt a lot about entrepreneurship, marketing, profit and loss. This will help those who want to be future entrepreneurs.

The principal, Karen Marx and Hlophe thank the staff, learners and parents who assisted towards the success of this day and congratulate the Grade 7s on their ideas and selling strategies.

Anna Sabatinni from Roots and Shoots donated a tree to the school which was planted for Arbour day. The Eco club learnt about the tree and all played a small role in planting it. The school looks forward to enjoying the shade it will provide in years to come.
