* This coming Saturday (August 26) sees Nibs van der Spuy performing Under the Figtree at Nkomba. Bookings can be made by contacting 083 4415084 and it is R150 per person. Pre-payment by August 23. Bring your own picnic, refreshments and chair. The programme includes music at 12:30, lunch at 13:30, music at 14:30 and close at 15:30.
* The Relton Hall Recreation Club is holding its monthly market on September 2. For more information contact 083 6539164.
* Pennington Ski Boat Club presents the 2023 Potjie Competition on September 2 from 10:00. There will be much eating and live music and loads of fun. Registration fee is R100. Email the secretary secretary@psbc.org.za
* The Pennington Community Watch committee invites members of the community to attend the feedback meeting on September 12. It will be at the Pennington Library, Dolphin Drive at 17:30.
* The Scottburgh MTB and Trail Run is being held on September 23 from 07:00 to 13:00. Watch this space for further information.
The Scottburgh Post Office staff attempted to do some mail deliveries. It was reported that most residents do not have post boxes or numbers at the entrances to homes. Unfortunately some of the letters are lying on the front lawn of properties. Community members are asked to afix a post box or notify the post office to make an arrangement to collect mail.
A request from Elder’s Voice in Pennington. If any kind person can help with the loan of a kombi to fetch and carry old folks to the hospital and doctors and pension collection as their kombi was hit by drunk driver and will cost R48 000 to repair and of course no insurance coming forth.
