Eagles charity game was a hit

The next game will be played on September 5.

Umdoni Park Golf Club was the venue for the Village Eagles annual charity golf game this month.

The views of the sea from this course are spectacular. We once again thank Umdoni Park for the gracious sponsorship on the day, the monies will be put to good use for our nominated charities.

The longest day went to (from left) Karen Lithgow, Adrian Rogers, Bryony Rogers and Michael Lithgow.

We had 52 players on a little windy midday morning start. The golf course was in very good condition, thanks to Rynardt and his team for the effort made. Best lady was Sue Boucher on 41 individual points and Gus Crous took the men’s prize on 44 points. The winners on the day were Wayne Simpson, Brian Richards, John Watkins and Fred van Prooijen on an alliance score of 96 points.

The longest day and collecting the Stones Trophy was Michael Lithgow, Bryony Rogers, Adrian Rogers and Karen Lithgow on 79 points. Eddie Mathews presented the results, and we had a few issues, but all was resolved and thereafter went without a hitch.

Winners Fred van Prooijen and John Watkins. (Absent: Wayne Simpson and Brian Richards).

I thank Alister Ayers for his assistance with the results. On the fines side, Derek Hodge was the master and this was once again well-supported. Our next game will be held at Umkomaas on September 5. See you all there.
